Phone Reset

My phone just reset for no reason.  When this happens, it erases my current brickbreaker game. This is the second time this has occured and in both instances my score was over 700,000 points!  Today I think it was around 718,000 with over 250 lives accumulated.

I know how you feel. I currently have 1,154,680 points and 565 lives. My BlueTooth stopped working over the weekend and now I have a dilemma…Do I try to reset the phone or give it to IT and lose my potential record setting score or do I just live without BlueTooth (in my car, travelling, etc.)?

This is unreal. How do you all do this?

I made the mistake of trying this game and am unable to quit, but my hi score is about 3000! I felt great when I got it!

I am currently at 355,000+ with 140 lives. Has the 5 million pt. record been broken or does it still stand today?

I am so angry right now I can scream. I know your pain. I have been playing BB since Sept ‘07, getting better the more I played but, until recently, NEVER making it past round 2. I would look at the high scores of some and thought it was impossible, that they were not being honest.

    I was wrong.

On May 8, 2008, I somehow got past round 2. I remember the date as I was so shocked to get there, I logged the date in my BB.

Once I started round 3, the game became easier, the ball moved normally, the lives kept racking up. If any of you get past round 2, you will know what I mean.

I was at 3,800,000 plus points with 1,308 lives, round 221, and all of a sudden, MY SCREEN JUST SUDDENLY WENT BLACK. I was on level 25 and noticed the ball “skipping” alot on that level, like it never had before. All of a sudden, everything just went black and the red light came on my blackberry. Nothing worked. Something happened to the battery (it was NOT low prior to this occurance), and when I got it to the charger, everything worked, except my magnificent BrickBreaker game was lost. Totally, totally gone. The game itself (icon) is still on the BB, and I can start at the beginning with “0″ points but I cannot bring myself to do this.

I’ve had it with that game. Simply had it. All that time spent playing, at night after work, all for naught.

Screw the game people, it will happen to all of you eventually and you’ll feel just like I do. It is one of the most frustrating feelings.

I will now go back to my inexpensive hand-held Solitaire game from Target. It passes the time, it’s cheap and it won’t do what this thing just did.

Oscar, I believe the high is 7 million right now. It’s what I was aiming for. Check your “high scores” on the game to be sure.

How do you manage such a score?? Hundreds of thousands points? How???

Once you get past the 2nd round it’s easy. If you can score 35 ~ 36K then most likely you can score 1Mil+, it’s just a matter of patience and luck then. Luck in that you hope your BB doesn’t lock up or reset, or you have to change the battery, or your 1.5 year old daughter drops the phone and your company then has to replace it, or you have to change providers, or you add a new app that requires a reboot (damn you google maps!), etc.

I passed the 2nd round with one life left, and within days I had 40. It’s that easy after.

i have a question. several times now, the ball on brickbreaker has bounced out of the realms of the borders and doesn’t bounce back in to the game. how do you get the ball back???? its sooooo frustrating as i have to terminate the game and start over again. is there a trick you can do to get the ball back again? thanks!

hate when that happens! Had mine up to about 650,000 and 250 lives when it reset. Now up to 803,000 with 261 lives - just wish there was a way to back it up.

well im at 3,559,460 with 518 lives and ive never had the problem of my BB restarting on its own or the ball getting stuck

  13. Comment by Larry Olson on February 13, 2009 4:17 pm

At 1,440,640 with 701 lives and my ball will not bounce off the top (gets stuck…try again. And if it hits the bricks will not bounce just sticks. Am I done? At this point I can’t go any further. If I clear score will it work or will it continue to stick? Jeez

    Larry,

I could not figure out how to solve this problem when it happened to me. I had to start over. I read somewhere that the game on some blackberry devices will not continue passed the level you are currently on. These devices stop after running through the 34 levels about 80-81 times. Is this consistent with your experience? My advice to you is to get the Curve. I bought one after I lost my Pearl, and it has been glitch free.

I had to reset my blackberry and after resetting I no longer have brickbreaker! How do I get it back?

Want my score back!! I had a score of more than 756,000 and one morning it was gone! I e-mailed plazmic, yelled at the sprint tech support and the Blackberry Tech support wanted $50.00 for the consultation!!!

Last week, my game went blank at 500,000/100 lives. I am not over it yet. I have been finding that the ball goes rights through bricks more frequently of late - this is almost never helpful.

While I doubt I am adding anything new, my story involves addiction–Brickbreaker addiction–and my 6 year old baby girl. She challenged me to get the highest score I could. In facgt, her goal for me was 1M. Needless to say, she was so excited when she came home 1 day and i told her that I had reached 1.6M and I had 252 lives–she wanted to check the screen for herself. Perhaps you can see what’s coming at this point. Well, I was working on my computer and not really paying attention. Suddenly, my daughter said “Daddy, what is THIS screen?” I looked up to see the Brickbreaker intro screen staring back at me. In that instant I knew that months of work (and those of us who have gotten that far along can agree it becomes “work”) was gone…

All’s well that ends well, tho. I did not have the heart to tell my daughter that she had reset my game–I am an adult and have other things I should be doing anyway, right? It was, however, in that same moment of loss that my addiction to Brickjbreaker was broken–at least on my Berry. Proof that I am still a Brickbreaker addict is that I found this page aqfter running a search to see if I could download the game onto my laptop!!!

    Fare thee well, Breakers!

Brickbreaker was my total addiction when I had the World Edition BB..I switched to a curve and for some reason this one doesn’t have brickbreaker on it. Everyone I’ve asked so far doesn’t have the slightest clue to how to find or put it on there. Including Verizon. Does anyone here know where I could find it to download or how to get it or what happened that it isn’t on my phone?

    Thanks!

I have had the same thing happen to me twice. I had 400k both times one with 125 lives and the second with 140 lives. I have never been more pissed off. I ended up throwing my phone. Like everyone says once you get through the second time of beating the game it gets easier. I have quit playing BB. Which is probably good because I think my wife was about to divorce me.

This has happened to me several times and I always vow to quit playing.
Right now I have 1,708,390 points with 847 lives and my phone is acting up.
I am going to have to reset it, this is the second time I was over a million and had to start over.
    It’s an addiction!

The first time I got past the second round and had over 500,000 when my phone reset. I was so upset. It took me months to get past round 2. Then I got a high score of over 500,000. The 3rd time I got past round 2, I had over 800,000 when my phone started acting funny. I deliberatly lost all my lives and recorded a new high score. Better that than lose it. I WISH BREAKER HAD A SAVE OPTION!!!!
